1. Take a bath or hot shower
Get a fun bath bomb and a light a yummy smelling candle and take a hot bath. This seriously feels so nice and refreshing. Your skin and mind will feel amazing after and all the stress and strain from the week will be washed away.
I just started taking baths recently and I love how Zen and calm they make me feel, especially for those spa days. It is really one of the best self-care tips after a long week.
Spice it up!
Bath bombs completely transform your bath. Watching the bath body fizzle out is almost as good as the bath itself! It makes the water to pretty and pampers your skin with different kinds of essential oils. You can also get bath salts and bubbles for extra fun.
2. Face mask
This goes along with taking a bath because you can put on a face mask as you take your bath which adds to the pampered, spa day feeling. However, you can also throw on a face mask whenever you feel that you need a little extra life to your skin. This is a great way to add self-care into your weekly routine and feel confident and glowing all week.
I love face masks and they are a great way to pamper you face and deep clean your pores after a long week. I feel so refreshed after I do a face mask.
The Freeman masks are super good, especially the Avocado and Oatmeal or the Anti-Stress Dead Sea Minerals. I also love Kale Charcoal Detox Mask by Pacifica as I can feel it getting deep into my pores.
3. Shave your legs
Everybody loves shaved legs. You can’t tell me that you don’t feel better after shaving your legs and feeling the smooth masterpiece you just created. It seriously makes you so happy and satisfied.
I don’t shave my legs every day, and neither should you! Shaving every day is hard on your skin and increases the risk of cutting yourself. This is why shaving is the perfect thing to do after a hard week and will get you feeling smooth and relaxed going into the weekend or next week.
Exfoliate your legs
Exfoliating before you shave with will help prevent cuts and remove any dead skin cells to create a smoother and closer shave. This small step will make a huge difference in the result you get.
Check out the Tree Hut sugar scrub. It works super good and smells amazing. My legs feel so nice and silky after.
4. Exercise
This is one of the best things you can do as a form of self-care. Not only does it create a multitude of fitness benefits for your body and increases overall health, but it also promotes a clear mind.
Exercises stimulates endorphins, which are our body’s natural painkillers and makes us feel better. Exercise also reduces the body’s level of stress hormones, which is why it is one of the best activities to do as a means of self-care after a long week
Chances are something during the week might’ve caused a little (or a lot) of stress, such as work or school. This would be a great way to help to manage or eliminate that add weight.

Ever heard the saying, “A clean room is clean mind”?
Well, it’s so true!
After a long week, your living spaces might’ve gotten a little messy which is completely understandable. However, cleaning your space at the end of week is a great form of self-care because reorganizes your life and reorganizes your mind. After I clean my room and do laundry, I feel much more organized and clear-minded.
If your room is a scramble, all your thoughts, responsibilities, and tasks are also a scramble. Make everything easier on yourself and clean your space and clear your mind.
8. Sit in the sun
Everyone needs some sunlight in their life. In fact, did you know, being in the sun has some amazing health benefits?
The sun helps your body produce a hormone called melatonin that aids in falling sleeping and improves your sleep quality. It also gives your body vitamin D which helps strengthen your bones and your immune system.
Sitting and relaxing in the sun is a great way to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. This is especially useful if you spend your days in an office or inside a building.
Unfortunately, when winter comes around, this might not be a reasonable option, but for those summer months, take advantage of the warm sun.
However, over-exposure of the sun can have some negative side effects as well. You don’t need to spend hours in the scorching hot sun to gain the benefits of it. 15-30 minutes is substantial enough.
9. Yoga or mediation
There is no question as to the fact that stretching, yoga or meditation is beneficial to the mind and body. Keeping your muscles flexible and functional is important to long term health and injury prevention as well as deep breathing and clearing your mind.
Take some time to yourself and relax your mind. There are a ton of amazing apps or YouTube videos that have guided meditation or yoga sessions. Challenge yourself to try a few different ones and find what you like and what works for you.
10. Go to bed early
In order to continue to perform at your very best each day, you need to sleep and get rest. After a long week, going to bed early is a great form of self-care.
According to the National Sleep Foundation guidelines, a healthy adult should get between 7-9 hours of sleep every night. You should also take into consideration your activity level throughout the day, if you are extremely active or busy, you might need a little more sleep.
Everyone’s body is different, if you constantly tired every day, it might be because you need more sleep. As you get busy throughout the week, that might not always be possible. However, after a long week, catch up on that sleep. Recover and replenish your body.
Everyone has their own ways that they like to relax and refresh, therefore, not every method of self-care will work the same for everyone. Find a few that you like and roll with it.
