TikTok for made me absolutely spiral. I was always comparing my life to those that I saw all the time. I just kept thinking that my life should be more fun or should look a different way. In reality, I liked my life, social media just made me think it wasn’t good enough.
And the influence social media has is so real, and scary to think about.
After I deleted TikTok, the first few weeks I found myself subconsciously wanting to click into it. But after a while, I started noticing that my life felt lighter. There wasn’t as much weight on it. I wasn’t being influenced into thinking anything specific.
And not to sound dramatic but that was the most liberating feeling ever.
Instead of scrolling through endless videos, I started rediscovering life outside the app. I spent more time outdoors and reconnected with hobbies I’d forgotten about. I also noticed my focus improved, my sleep got better, and I felt more present in my daily life.
It was a game-changer.
