Shorter haircuts require more frequent hair cuts to maintain their shape and style. When it comes to medium-length hair, it depends on hair texture and how fast your hair grows. How often you trim long hair depends on how healthy the hair is as longer hair is more susceptible to breakage.
How often should you trim your hair:

3. Invest in a Leave-In Conditioner Treatment
Investing in a leave-in conditioner will be a GAME-CHANGER in your hair care routine.
A leave-in conditioner treatment is the ONE product that I use everyday!
Leave-in conditioners add extra hydration and moisture into your hair to help combat any dryness, fizziness, or brittleness.
They are work as a de-tangler to avoid any breakage when you brush and style your hair.
Speaking about styling your hair… leave-in conditioner also works as a heat protector adding an extra barrier between your hair and any heat or environment stressor like the sun.
Due to its insane amount of benefits and convenient, easy to use, formula, leave-in conditioners are the number one product you should be adding into your healthy hair care routine.
I HIGHLY recommend the It’s a 10 Miracle Leave In Treatment! I use this EVERYDAY and it has been the best thing ever for my hair care.
It’s called “It’s a 10” because it claims to have 10 amazing benefits and I will be completely honest- It delivers all of them! They have a bunch of different line that caters toward different needs including blonde, silk, scalp and volumizing.
But my favorite is their leave in treatment with Keratin.
4. Add a Hair Oil
As someone whose hair is more on the oily side, I was very skeptical about adding more oil to my hair. However, hair oiling actually improved my scalps oil production.
Hair oiling, also known as oil treatment or oiling, involves applying natural oils to the hair and scalp to nourish, moisturize, and strengthen the hair.
This practice has been used for centuries in various cultures around the world and offers numerous benefits for hair health.
I like to add jojoba oil to my scalp an hour before showering and message it into my scalp. While I use jojoba oil, another popular oil is rosemary oil known for helping hair growth.
You can also buy a hair oil but make sure to look at the ingredients to make sure there a natural and doesn’t contain anything harmful.
Jojoba oil also provides amazing benefits on your skin. Read more about adding it your skincare routine.
5. Do a Weekly Hair Mask
Weekly hair mask offer a ton of benefits for your hair’s health and appearance:
- Deep Conditioning: Hair masks are typically formulated with ingredients that deeply penetrate the hair shaft, providing intense hydration and nourishment. This helps to restore moisture to dry, damaged hair, making it softer, smoother, and more manageable.
- Repair and Strengthen: Many hair masks contain proteins, vitamins, and other nutrients that help repair and strengthen the hair strands. This can be particularly beneficial for those with chemically treated or heat-damaged hair, as it helps to rebuild and fortify the hair structure.
- Prevent Breakage: Regular use of a hair mask can help reduce breakage and split ends by improving the overall health and resilience of the hair. By keeping the hair well-conditioned and moisturized, it becomes less prone to damage from styling tools, environmental stressors, and everyday wear and tear.
- Enhance Shine and Smoothness: Hair masks can impart a healthy shine to the hair and tame frizz, leaving it looking smoother and more lustrous. This is especially beneficial for those with dull or coarse hair, as it helps to restore vitality and shine.
- Scalp Health: Some hair masks also provide benefits for the scalp, such as soothing irritation, balancing oil production, and promoting a healthy scalp environment. A healthy scalp is essential for optimal hair growth and overall hair health.
- Maintain Color and Texture: For those with color-treated hair, using a hair mask regularly can help maintain the vibrancy of the color and prevent it from fading prematurely. Additionally, it can help preserve the texture and integrity of the hair, keeping it looking and feeling its best between salon visits.
