Valentine’s Day is full of cheesy moments, gift and flowers. But there are a few Valentine’s Day staples you can’t miss out on!
1. Understand you don’t have to be lonely, when you are alone
This is the first step in being your own valentine and the most important one.
As you get older, the time you spend alone will only become greater. During this time, you don’t have to be lonely when you are alone.
This is the time to do all the things that make YOU feel good.
Take a bath, binge your favorite show, take yourself out on a date, paint your nails, or try a new hobby.
Learning how to enjoy your own company may take some time but it is also one of the greatest gifts you can have.
When you’re young, you are constantly surrounded by people whether that is with your family or at school or with friends. You are always surrounded by others.
As you get order, it will become more important to understand the peace and happiness you can find when you alone. This will also make being your own valentine just that much more joyful.

2. Get ready for the day!
Start the day off right by getting ready!
When you look good, you feel good- I don’t make the rules. And who doesn’t love dressing up and feeling cute?
So start your day by getting ready and putting on an outfit that makes you feel beautiful and confident.
You can even put a cute little ribbon or bow in your hair.
Dress for yourself and for your confidence!
3. Get yourself flowers
Cheesy or not, getting yourself flowers are step #3 to being your own valentine!
I mean, who doesn’t love seeing a gorgeous bouquet of flowers in their kitchen?
I am not one to get flowers all the time because frankly, they are more expensive and die faster than I would like. However, there are a few occasions that flowers are a necessity- Valentines Days being one of them!
So go get yourself some flowers and enjoy them all week long!
4. Make your own chocolate covered strawberries
It wouldn’t be valentines days without chocolate covered strawberries.
However, instead of buying them premade, get some strawberries and melting chocolate and do it yourself.
This is a fun and delicious little activity to do on Valentine’s days.
5. Enjoy some “me” time
If you are going to be your own valentine, that you get to decided what exactly you do.
Spend some quality time with yourself doing something that you enjoy.
The possibilities are endless.
- Take some cute pictures
- Watch a movie
- Take yourself on a dinner date
- Do a cute puzzle
The day is all yours!
